Be Obsessed With Your Goals or Get Defeated
What does obsessed mean?
First of all, obsessed is a state where your mind is totally commit to an idea or something that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind. If we use it wrongly, it can be a disaster but if you use it correctly, it can become a very powerful pushing power to reach our goals and achieve massive success. like Grant Cardone said “Be Obsessed or Be Average“. You can only choose one!
However, choosing only is not enough. Ask yourself these questions, “Have you been obsessed with your goals?”, “Are obsessed to win?” or “Are obsessed to improve and to change your life?”. If you are, then you are on the right place and at the right time. But, to the guys who already obsessed with their goals, you can always read it as a reminder.
But why do we have to be obsessed? There are 3 great reasons that I found to be very helpful when you started becoming obsessed with your goals. Which are:
1. You do things you don’t want to do.
But you do it anyway. Why? because you already become obsessed with it. Every time you don’t want to do it, your mind would tell you, you need to do this or you wont get where you want to be. It is like, you have an inner push where your subconscious and desire are telling you to just do it instead of procrastinate it. Your desire to win and achieve massive success had overcome your mind totally. And when you manage to do this, you will become unstoppable.
2. Become Self-Discipline
Yes, this is what you want because self discipline are the habits that you do everyday. It all happens when you started to become obsessed with your goals. You tends to become more discipline with yourself, instead of being lazy. The results would be you keep showing up everyday no matter what happen.
Even when things started to get super hard, when things started to show no results, and when things started to get stalled, you just keep on doing it. Instead of your giving up to your inner voice telling you not to do it such “this is not for me“, “maybe not today“, “this is not the time” and so on. You would still do it because you willing to do whatever it takes everyday to achieve your dreams.
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment”
― Jim Rohn
I know how that feelings too. Sometimes is hard to be self discipline and make a habits of showing up everyday. but hey, no worries, you can always learn how to do it and practice it. And I know, when you failed to reach you small goals (happen to me before), it can gets discouraging sometimes.
But when you do get obsessed, you just do it all over again. Because that is what winners do right? We take risk and we are looking at the big picture. Failure is just temporary defeats. Treat these small goals like a stepping stone towards the big goals. When you failed, just try it again. Embrace the failure and learned from it.
Remember, discipline is a practice not a punishment. Just like Usain Bolt (the fastest man alive) once said “the training is the hard part, the easy part would be racing in the stadium“. This kind of thinking is what set the winners and the losers.
― Jim Rohn
3. You Push Forward to Take Action.
Overtime, when you become obsessed and self-discipline, you are building the muscle to ignore the naysayer, the negative thinking and the fears. At this time, you would be operating based on your desire and dreams instead of playing it safe and running from fear.
Furthermore, setting goals and seeing the big picture is the easy part. While the hard part is so many things you have to go through. But, if you still obsessed with it, it wont be a problem to you and this is how you win. You already to obsessed with it. By then, it will made you so focus and give an undivided intention on your goals. Obsession will become like a compass to you which pointing out towards your goals. No matter you failed or astray from the goals, eventually you get right back on the track.
How to be Obsessed?
1. First, you made your choices. Make a declaration about it. A choice that you made and not by other people. Not even your parent and even your best friends. You find it and you choose it yourself. Do and commit to something that you really love and have a passion in it. If you still can’t find one. It’s okay, just keep looking. The trick is to find something you like to do that you are willing to die for. For me, it would be writing.
2. Have faith. understand that life is journey not a sprint. Believe in yourself is the first step. understand that sometimes life goes according to what we are planning and sometimes it doesn’t. And it is still okay. That is why call it life. It suppose to be challenging. In a way, these difficulties in life is a gift because they made us stronger.

In short, you go in full throttle and exort your energy through obsession. If you do it just for fun or just because you interested in it. Someone who is more hungrier than you will defeat you overtime. Get serious and tell them you mean business. It’s time to fight back. No more playing around.
